Privacy policy

What we ask for, why we need it, and who else ends up seeing it. No part of this is written to be skimmed past.

In effect from September 11, 2026. Motora is a trading name of CNP Transportation LLC. Where this page says “we”, it means the business that operates Motora.

The short version

We ask for the least we can and still get a truck to you: a phone number, where the vehicle is, what it is, and what went wrong. Your card is held by our payment processor and never by us. Your live location is shared with your driver while the job is running and stops when it ends. We do not sell any of it, and we do not hand your phone number to anyone for marketing.

What we collect when you request service

  • Your phone number. We text you a six-digit code to confirm it. This is how your driver reaches you, and how we send you the tracking link and the invoice.
  • Your name, so the driver knows who they are looking for.
  • The pickup address, and the drop-off address if it is a tow.
  • The vehicle — make, model, year, colour, whether you have the keys, and whether it will shift into neutral. The last two decide what equipment the driver brings.
  • What happened, in your own words, if you tell us.
  • Your precise location, but only if you allow your browser to share it. Declining is a supported way to use this site, not a degraded one — you type the address instead and everything works.
  • An email address, if you give us one, so we can send the invoice.

There is no account to create and no password to choose. Requesting service does not sign you up for anything.

Your card

Card numbers never reach us. When you add a card it goes straight from your browser to Stripe, our payment processor, who stores it and charges it. What we keep is an identifier Stripe gives us and the amounts — what was held, what was charged, and when. We could not read your card number if we wanted to.

The hold placed before your driver sets off, and the charge taken when the job is finished, are explained in the terms.

Location, and when it stops

Two different locations are involved, and they are treated differently.

Yours is collected once, when you file the request, and only if you permit it. We do not track you afterwards. The site does not ask for background location and cannot get it.

Your driver’s is sent to us while they are on the way to you, so the map on your tracking page moves. The server refuses to record any further position once the job is completed or cancelled — a driver who leaves the tab open stops being recorded at that moment, not when they think to close it. Individual position readings are deleted six hours after they are taken.

If you use the chat assistant

The assistant on the request page works out which service you need from what you describe. What you type is sent to Anthropic, which runs the model, and to nobody else. The conversation is held in your browser for as long as the tab is open and is not stored on our servers; what carries over into the job is the service it picked and the description it wrote, which you can see and edit before anything is filed.

It cannot dispatch a truck by itself. Every job is filed by you or by a person at dispatch.

Text messages

We text you for three reasons: the code that confirms your number, the link that tracks your driver, and the invoice when the job is done. These are service messages about a job you asked for. We do not send marketing texts, and we do not add you to any list.

  • Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help, or call (973) 530-6757.
  • Message frequency depends on your job — typically three to six messages per request.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier and plan.
  • Stopping texts does not cancel your job. If you have a truck on the way and you opt out, call us, because a text is how we would otherwise have told you the driver arrived.

We do not share mobile phone numbers or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Numbers are passed only to the messaging carrier that delivers the message, and to the towing provider assigned to your job so their driver can call you.

Who else sees your information

Only the companies that make the service work, and only what each one needs:

  • The towing provider assigned to your job — your name, number, the addresses, and the vehicle. They are an independent business and use it to do the job you asked for.
  • Stripe — payment processing. They hold the card; we hold the receipt.
  • Twilio — delivers our text messages.
  • Resend — delivers our email.
  • Anthropic — runs the chat assistant, if you use it.
  • Komoot’s Photon service and OpenStreetMap — turn the address you type into a point on a map, and supply the map tiles. The address text is sent to them; your identity is not.
  • Microsoft Azure — hosts the site and the database, in the United States.

Beyond that: we do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not trade it for advertising. We would disclose it if a court or a law required us to, or if it were genuinely necessary to protect someone’s safety — and we would rather say that here than pretend the possibility does not exist.

Cookies and tracking

The site sets a sign-in cookie for staff accounts, and your browser keeps your in-progress request so a dropped connection does not lose it. Neither is used to follow you anywhere.

There are no advertising trackers, no analytics, and no consent banner — because there is nothing to consent to.

How long we keep it

  • Driver position readings — six hours from when they were taken.
  • Phone confirmation codes — minutes. They expire and are then useless.
  • Your job and its invoice — kept as business and tax records. A tow is a transaction someone may need to prove years later, to an insurer or to us.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call the number below. We will do it, subject only to records we are required to keep. New Jersey residents have these rights under state law; we apply them to everyone, because drawing a line there would be petty.

Children

This service is for adults arranging help for a vehicle. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, call us and we will remove it.

Security, honestly stated

Traffic to this site is encrypted. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. Card numbers are not ours to lose. Access to job records is limited to dispatch and to the provider assigned to that job, and tracking links are signed and expire.

What we will not tell you is that this makes it impossible to breach, because nobody can truthfully say that. If something does happen, we will tell the people affected.

If this changes

We will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with information we already hold, we will say so plainly rather than let the date do the work.

Reaching a person

Any question about this page — including a request to see, correct or delete what we hold about you — goes to the same number a customer calls. A person answers it.
